Renowned Lebanese fashion designer Reem Acra signed a three-year sponsorship with the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) as title sponsor for the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final.
HRH Princess Haya, FEI President, said, “The FEI is delighted to welcome Reem Acra as a new dressage sponsor. The Reem Acra brand will add even more glamour to what is already one of the world's most stylish sports and it is wonderful to have such a celebrated sponsor for the Western European League and for the final.”
Last week I had the privilege to attend the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Grand Prix at The London International Horse Show at Olympia, courtesy of Ms Acra.
Olympia to me marks the start of the festive period. As a country girl from the Cotswold’s I adore horses, especially as I was brought up close to many prominent racing trainers. On arrival at my country retreat I always enjoy seeing the horses and spending time in the countryside air.
I was invited to attend, along with a few other splendid fashion journalists, to spend a wonderful afternoon watching remarkably talented dressage riders and horses.
Dressage is French for ‘arrangement’ or ‘training,” and considered by many equestrians as the most advanced form of riding. Watching the horses dance effortlessly across the Olympia showground resembled watching a classical dance production. The level of concentration required from both rider and horse, as they performed a series of complex maneuvers, was breathtaking.
I enjoyed every minute of the occasion watching from the chic President’s Box, where my every whim was catered for, and in the most stylish of fashions. I would like to thank Ms Acra and Lisa Wells for the wonderful invitation and will look forward to the World Cup Dressage final, which will take place in Leipzig Germany next April.
