Selfridges & Co was founded by Harry Gordon Selfridge in 1909. The Flagship department store located on London’s Oxford Street is the second largest store in the UK.
Stocking absolutely everything your heart desires, this store is the Mecca for anyone wanting something special from their shopping experience.
When I first arrived in London from the Cotswolds I was studying for my Art and Design foundation with my friend Polly. We were regularly sent out on Gallery and Museum visits with our tutors, conveniently we always able to find Selfridges on our visits and somehow not the location for our lecture!!!
Since then Selfridges and I have a date to uphold every week, whether I am buying a present for myself or for friends and loved ones or meeting a friend for a coffee (with a little added shopping, obviously!) Selfridges IS the place where you walk in empty handed then depart with not only a spring in your step but also a fair few iconic golden yellow shiny bags with black writing.
