2012 is the year for exciting national events, yet it also marks the first ever Cheltenham Fashion Week.

I have given up all hope of competing at the Olympics, mainly because no one seems to recognise shopping as a sport! Thinking back to when I watched the medal ceremonies, in wonder, I always thought how it must feel to inspire your home town, let alone a whole nation.  For me, my Olympic moment came last year when I was invited to become Fashion Consultant to Cheltenham Fashion Week (CFW).

When Sam Bawden, Co-founder of CFW and an all round superstar, appointed me my role, I knew it was a chance for me to give back to my local area.

With fashion events held all year long and a prioritisation on education, CFW strives to radiate style inspiration to everyone of us.

I am so excited to have this opportunity to work with Schools and Colleges around the area, passing on everything I have learnt so far and encouraging some potential fashion students.  There is even a Teen Cheltenham Fashion Week blog, written by our Teen Fashion Ambassador Jessica Harvey, 14, who attends a Cheltenham School.

So follow @CheltFashionWk on twitter and like Cheltenham Fashion Week on Facebook and finally add 17th - 22nd September into your diary, the week when fashion makes history in Cheltenham.

P.S If you become a friend of CFW you recieve 30 per cent off Sarah-Hayley Freelance Services!
