Behind the Scenes on Cheltenham Fashion Week's Cotswold Style Fashion Shoot - Diamond Jubilee June Issue
Wednesday, May 30, 2012
Last month I was asked to style Cheltenham Fashion Week's first Fashion Shoot for their media partner, Cotswold Style Magazine's June Jubilee Issue.
The Spring/Summer 12 shoot featured an array of British themed dresses in Red, White and Blue. On the cover, our model wears the Siren dress, a body con fishtail dress by Jexika, accessorised with a beautiful Union Jack hat by Gloucestershire's very own Milliner Denise Innes and Lulu Guinness Fifi Clutch Bag.
Our shoot was on location at the luxurious getaway of Cowley Manor, set within the beautiful Cotswold countryside.
Coinciding with our shoot, inspiring sculptures by post-graduate students from the renowned Royal College of Art are on display within the Cowley grounds until the 30th September. The Coutts Cowley Manor Arts Award saw 27 submissions wishing to bring their vision to life, with eight finalists awarded the opportunity.
The innovative installations formed the backdrop to some of our shots, with the winning sculpture 'HEY' by artist Wonwoo Lee, my personal favourite, will take up permanent residence at Cowley. In the 'Hey' shot you can see a beautiful vibrant blue dress by Nina Naustdal Gold and red patent Keith Scarrott court shoes.

For the second shot Atelier-Mayer's 1960's vintage caped dress floated to and fro on a swing in a quiet section of the Cowley grounds. A red, white and blue jewelled cuff by Katherine Alexander also at Atelier-Mayer completed the look.
I have loved Henrietta Ludgate's collections for a while and the New York dress in white complemented the white head sculpture behind. The dress was worn with a second Denise Innes millinery creation the Crystal Tear drop in red.
Despite an awful rainy day we managed to capture a few images outside then returned into the hotel for our final shot and also one of my favourite images of the day. Our model wears Ada Zanditon's Persephone dress and Mercy Delta Rule Britannia Scarf, available at Foundation in Cheltenham/Stow-on-the-Wold boutiques.
It was a great opportunity for me to spend a whole day with our fabulous Cheltenham Fashion Week team and especially great to be at home for a whole day of fashion fun!
You can see the finished shoot below, view Cotswold Style's June Jubilee edition 'here' and also see the behind-the-scenes action in a film by the Online Video Company!
